Evening & Weekends Support Worker - Supported Living Adults with Learning Disabilities

THE ROLE
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Support Worker to join our team supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities at our Supported Living Service in Bognor Regis.
*Please note we do not offer support with Visa or Location Sponsorships and require the suitable candidate to be within the areas above or able to commute.
This is a part-time role of 20-30 hours per week. The hours are fairly flexible. Ideally the successful candidate will be available to work:
- 2-3 shifts per week between 16:00 - 21:00, plus
- Approx. 13 hours each weekend which can be worked as one long shift between 08:00 - 21:00 , or two shorter shifts across both days.

Salary: £11.54 - 12.54 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
Every individual we support has unique needs and personalities, and your responsibilities will be tailored to reflect this. Here are some key areas you will likely be involved in:
- Health and Wellbeing: Support individuals in making positive choices for their health, such as eating well, staying active, and maintaining good hygiene. You may also provide emotional support and assist with personal care needs, such as dressing, washing, and general self-care.
- Leisure and Social Activities: Engage in a range of activities, from indoor pursuits like cooking and crafts to outdoor adventures such as walking, horse riding, or swimming. You may also accompany people on day trips, holidays, or simple outings for coffee. Helping individuals to participate in activities they enjoy and engage with the community is essential to their happiness and well-being.
- Daily Living Skills: Assist with everyday tasks like attending appointments, grocery shopping, and household chores. For individuals with learning disabilities, these activities can be challenging, so your encouragement and guidance will be vital in helping them build independence.
- Safeguarding: Ensure that the people you support are safe and protected from abuse or exploitation. You will be responsible for upholding their rights and ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
- Administrative Duties: You will assist in dispensing and recording medication accurately and maintaining detailed records and reports. All documentation must comply with current legislation and care standards to ensure the highest level of care.
- Behavioural Support: You will be working with a diverse group of adults with learning disabilities who have complex needs and varying levels of challenging behaviours. You’ll manage behaviours positively and work to enhance their daily life skills through engaging and stimulating activities.
- Documentation and Care Planning: Keep thorough records and contribute to individualised care plans, ensuring each person’s needs and goals are clearly documented and supported.
