Senior Support Worker - Supported Living Adults with Learning Disabilities

THE ROLE


We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our team supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities at our Supported Living Services in Bognor Regis and Merston (between Bognor and Chichester).

*Please note we do not offer support with Visa or Location Sponsorships and require the suitable candidate to be within the areas above or able to commute.

This is permanent full-time role of 39 hours per week.

Salary: £13.29 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Effective Leadership: Manage the house efficiently and safely while ensuring high-quality care, supporting staff, and championing residents' needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal frameworks, best practices, and guidelines, ensuring all care and support adheres to these standards.
  • Team Management: Oversee staff development, including inductions, supervisions, and appraisals, while promoting a positive work environment and staff wellbeing.
  • Care Coordination: Liaise with healthcare professionals, manage medication administration, and ensure medical and personal needs are met for the people we support with dignity and respect.
  • Operational Oversight: Create shift plans, manage finances, conduct audits, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance: Implement safeguarding policies, infection control standards, and risk assessments while continuously improving service quality through regular audits and reviews.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for individuals who not only meet the role’s criteria but also embody the values that define our organisation. Ideally you will have completed a Level 3 Qualification in Health & Social Care, but we will also consider candidates who have the relevant experience for this role who are willing to complete this qualification once in post.

Here are the key qualities and qualifications we seek:

  • Leadership and Team Coordination: You should have the ability to effectively direct and organise a small team of support workers, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

  • Reliability and Compassion: We seek a reliable, patient, and compassionate individual who is committed to delivering high-quality care.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for completing documentation accurately and collaborating with team members.
  • Driver’s Licence: Ideally, applicants should hold a full UK driver’s licence to comply with our insurance requirements. However, we will consider non-drivers who meet all other essential criteria.
  • DBS Check: All successful applicants must be willing to complete an Enhanced Adult DBS Check.
  • Overseas Applicants: All applicants from overseas must hold a valid working visa. Please note that we do not provide visa or relocation sponsorships.
